Ideally looking for an immediate start date, our client is willing to wait a notice period for the right candidate.

18 month FTC, potential opportunity of transitioning into a permanent position.

Our client, a rapidly growing award winning financial institution are currently embarking on a transformation project which includes implementing Workday to replace their current legacy system. Operating as a Finance Change Director, you will be responsible for driving the preparation for the replacement of the current financial reporting package. You will be accountable for leading the process improvement initiatives to optimise the finance operations, leveraging workday as key enabling technology. You will need to quickly understand the current systems and processes across all aspects of the finance function where you will spearhead the modernisation of the finance functions processes and tooling to reduce the need for manual controls and to increase the use of automation for improved efficiency across the departments. As part of the role, you will need to get buy in for key aspects of the redesign and you will have the full operational oversight for the implementation and documentation of all aspects of the project, working with the team to understand their insights and buy in to deliver the change projects. You will be responsible for building relationships and work collaboratively with the wider teams and be responsible for ensuring that the teams and the wider business understand the new system and processes. You will play a key role in driving forward the implementation of Workday to replace their existing legacy system.

 

Essential Skills

  • Ideally ACA or ACCA qualified or any other accounting qualifications
  • Must have extensive experience of managing complex change processes
  • Must have experience working on Workday transformation / implementation projects
  • Strong experience and understanding of finance processes and systems with expertise in finance reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience in designing and implementing processes and control upgrades
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Experience driving processes improvements in complex environments.
  • Ideally have working in Financial Services environmentsActively communicate with counterparties based across the clients US and
  • EMEA, accruing the monthly costs, preparing quarterly intercompany invoice recharges accurately and on a timely basis, providing all the necessary support for local reporting purposes.
  • Analyse and report monthly costs on a statutory and functional unit basis conducting variance analysis to identify cost drivers and seek efficiencies by identifying opportunities for automation and cost savings.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations to ensure all balances are reviewed and any material variances are investigated and resolved on a timely basis each period end.
  • Perform variance analysis of the P&L and Balance Sheet and provide detailed commentary of key balances and movements.
  • Responsible for the project management and delivery for annual financial statements including all statutory disclosures in accordance with relevant local GAAP and the clients accounting policies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, tax advisors, and third-party service providers. Liaise with the Global finance team to resolve any financial accounting activities and questions on a timely basis, providing accounting data input to requests from
  • Management and FP&A monthly.
  • Support key the clients international-wide projects, such as intercompany policy enhancements, maintaining invoice approval workflow and aligning control processes with the global balance sheet program.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with 2-5 years post qualification experience ideally previously worked in US global matrix environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, proficient at using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to resolve issues with own initiative and manage deliverables.
  • Positive mindset with a drive to continually improve and challenge existing processes.
